John Dee had sudden myocardial infraction while transferred plane from Thailand to US in February. He was stopped at Taoyuan International Airport and was referred from airport to Landseed Hospital for cardiac catheterization surgery. He came from US to Taiwan for his myocardial infraction surgery this month. He bragged about the doctors in Taiwan are very friendly, and professional. He said that he’d never heard of Taiwan before, but now he loves Taiwan.

John Dee is going to be discharged from hospital today; he thanked his doctor by shaking Der Ho Wang’s hand and kissed his cheeks. He called Dr. Wang Der Ho as Dr. Wonderful, as it has a similar pronunciation.

John Dee, 55 years old, said he loves to travel and scuba diving, he traveled to Thailand in February for scuba diving. He felt a sudden chest pain while on the way back to Kentucky, US. He stopped at Taoyuan International Airport and was transferred to Landseed Hospital for hospitalization. Dr. Wang told him that he had to have surgery done on his blood vessels. When John was back to US, he e-mail and talked on the phone with Dr. Wang about wanting to have a surgery on his blood vessels in Landseed Hospital.

John Dee had mentioned that it costs US $150,000 in the US for his surgery, but it only costs US $20,000 in Taiwan. He borrowed several hundred dollars from neighbors to cover his travel and medical fees just to have surgery done in Taiwan. Surgery was very successful on the 7th, “I feel like I am a whole new person, it’s great to have surgery done in Taiwan.”

Dr. Wang said: John Dee had coronary artery bypass surgery 10 years ago, he had already have a stent on one of his blood vessels. When he was doing a surgery on John Dee in February, he found one of the blood vessels is severely clotted. This surgery took about 4 hours to complete.  

Dr. Wang said: Because John Dee likes scuba diving and severe exercise, if he didn’t have surgery right away, it will be harmful to his life. If he takes medicine regularly, he will be able to dive right away.

John Dee said: He’s never heard of Taiwan before, two surgeries that he had done in Taiwan were very successful, doctors are good, and nurses are very friendly, Taiwanese like to help other people who are in need.

He said: when he is back to US, he will tell all his friends about Taiwan, and how wonderful Taiwan is. I will find another time travel to Taiwan again, and know more friendly people here in Taiwan.
